Harmonicare Synergy

SYNTHETIC GUIDED WOUND CLOSURE MATRIX

Composition

SUPRA SDRM® is purely synthetic and therefore does not bear any residual risks as can be the case with biological products of human or animal origin. PMI’s SUPRA EPT™ incorporates a unique and proprietary copolymer which leaves only CO2 and H2O as resorption byproducts.

SUPRA SDRM® incorporates a bimodal foam membrane structure having the optimal combination of small and large pores based on literature  – smaller pores aid in cell migration while the larger interconnected pores aid in vascularization. This unique bimodal pore structure is proprietary to PMI.

Polymer:
Lactide-base copolymer

Metabolism:
Hydrolytically (to CO2 and H2O)

Thickness:

1.5 – 2.1 mm

Sterilization:
Gamma sterilization

Porosity:

> 85%, pores 3 – 600μm

Indications

SUPRA SDRM® is indicated for use in the management of:

  • Partial and full thickness wounds
  • Pressure (stage I, IV) ulcers
  • Venous stasis and diabetic ulcers
  • Ulcers caused by mixed vascular etiologies
  • Trauma, acute, and surgical wounds
Clinically proven

In a recent prospective randomized trial, SUPRA SDRM® led to faster healing rates compared to collagen dressings.4

  • PLA Matrices reduced the required time for wound healing of diabetic foot ulcers by 44% when compared to collagen-based dressings.
  • Moreover, 90% of wounds treated were closed by 12 weeks compared to only 30% in the collagen group.

SUPRA SDRM® is available in many configurations to accommodate different wound types for each patient.

Wound closure matrix

Using the same SUPRA EPT™ developed for SUPRATHEL®, PMI has developed SUPRA SDRM® as a proven wound closure matrix optimized to manage difficult-to-heal wounds. SUPRA SDRM® combines the benefits of the microporous structure found in SUPRATHEL® – which creates a protective barrier allowing the wound to heal – with additional larger pores that enable ingrowth of blood vessels needed to manage difficult-to-heal wounds.

Single application

SUPRA SDRM® is a single application product that is applied directly to a disinfected and debrided wound bed, where it stays intact until the wound is completely healed. After it is applied, the matrix becomes translucent and makes inspection of the healing process possible. SUPRA SDRM® may be reapplied every 7 days or as needed until wound healing is achieved.

Pore size distribution

SUPRA SDRM® has the ideal pore size distribution for rapid wound healing:

  • The small pores (3 – 12 μm) aid in initial cell migration;
  • While the large pores (50 – 600 μm) and high porosity lead to cell attachment and vascularization.1-3
